Teaching myself to teach AI to teach me how to build an SEO optimized directory with AI. Day Five.
Now we’re making progress. Two sites have been built following different deployment approaches. Claude had me building code that would create SEO rich web pages from data I had already collected. The result, visually is not very different from what we’ve seen before, but the creation of each page has now been automated. No more coal mining.
Gemini on the other hand had me build a CMS (Content Management System) by building a backend database in the cloud using sanity.io and connecting a frontend that fetches the data and constructs pages from templates using Next.js.
Both projects did not go smoothly, perhaps because the instructions made assumptions I would know how to troubleshoot or deploy code without precise instructions. In both cases, all issues in configuration or finding the assumptions the AI had made that were wrong, including versions of Sanity and Next.js were easily resolved through short exchanges in the chat.

What did I ship today?
You only get to see one site, the one I made with instructions from Claude.
Because the Gemini version includes the use of two servers, I have to deploy the code to Github and then publish it on Netlify. Something in the process got screwy and I’m all out of juice for today. I’ll troubleshoot it tomorrow.

Last Word.
Because I’m deep down the rabbit hole, I hear endless references to tools such as lindy.ai which let’s you build ai agents with simple prompts. Soon, these agents will be done this work for me, but I’m sure it will help knowing some of the rudiments for when things inevitably go pear shaped.
